Wiki says: The Hot Wheels casting portrays a first-generation model of the Iconic Volkswagen Kombi. The first generation Volkswagen Kombi was produced in Germany, Brazil and Australia from the 1950s up to 1967. The Hot Wheels casting shows a customized "Shorty" delivery variant with an open tailgate and surfboards jutting out the back. There is also a huge exhaust pipe and two small stabilizer wheels on the rear of the vehicle.
Starting from about 2014 the "Volkswagen" portion of the name was dropped.
